Environmental Conservation and Livelihood Improvement

Boresha Mazingira Project

Boresha Mazingira is a community-based initiative focused on empowering women, youth, and children at Bigwa ward who are residing around the Uluguru Mountains Forest through environmental conservation education and the promotion of ecologically friendly income-generating activities. The project aims to foster a culture of environmental stewardship by equipping communities with the knowledge and skills needed to protect their natural resources while improving their livelihoods. By integrating conservation with sustainable development, Boresha Mazingira supports long-term resilience for both people and nature at Bigwa ward.

Project Beneficiaries

Boresha Mazingira empowers women by promoting sustainable, ecosystem-friendly income-generating activities that improve household livelihoods while protecting the environment. Through training, support, and community engagement, women are encouraged to become leaders in conservation efforts—demonstrating that environmental stewardship and economic empowerment can go hand in hand.

Recognizing the energy and innovation of young people, Boresha Mazingira engages youth in environmentally conscious entrepreneurship. The project supports youth with practical skills and knowledge to initiate eco-friendly businesses that contribute to conservation and climate resilience, helping to shape a generation of environmentally responsible leaders and changemakers.

At the heart of Boresha Mazingira is a commitment to shaping future stewards of the environment. Through interactive environmental education, the project nurtures children’s awareness of nature, conservation, and climate action from an early age. By fostering curiosity and responsibility, we lay the foundation for a greener, more sustainable future.
